Approved aftermarket parts

ICBC works with the aftermarkets parts industry to ensure all parts listed on our parts databases comply with ICBC’s aftermarket part sources standards of performance.

These are the ICBC-approved aftermarket parts:

Items for consideration for use on ICBC claims

ICBC works with the aftermarket industry to add new product lines for use on ICBC claims.

Aftermarket vehicle ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assist System) components are currently being reviewed for inclusion on ICBC claims pending definitive research and/or independent 3rd party certification for reasonable assurance of fit, form, and function.

The following parts are not presently authorized for use on ICBC claims until further notice.

Vehicle ADAS Components	Aftermarket ADAS components including but not limited to bumper proximity sensors, extended vision cameras, LIDAR & Radar units and ultrasonic components.

Heavy equipment aftermarket parts

Aftermarket body parts are not often available except for chrome and stainless steel accessories and add-on parts. However, mechanical parts are readily available and are often the more cost effective option. A few of the commonly available aftermarket parts are:

lights
mirrors
flaps
trim pieces
boxes
steps
racks, and
bumpers.

In some instances a part may be fabricated, as opposed to replacement with OEM.

Note: For example, Peterbilt step and battery boxes. OEM cost is approximately 3 times the cost of fabrication, which averages at $750.00. Meanwhile, there is no visible difference if fabricated properly.

Aftermarket bumpers are often much more cost effective than OEM. It is common where it has been changed by the prior owner to a style with more lights. Usually, these have been purchased in the USA. These need to be checked carefully as there are a few local suppliers with significant variations in cost for the same part.
