- stainless steel accessories.
The following are commonly available aftermarket body parts
- boxes
- bumpers.
- flaps
- lights
- mirrors
- racks, and
- steps
- trim pieces
Note: Mechanical parts are readily available and are often the more cost effective option.
Some parts may be fabricated, as opposed to replacement with original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
- Example
- For a Peterbilt step and battery boxes, the OEM cost is approximately three times the cost of fabrication, which averages at $750.00. Meanwhile, there is no visible difference if fabricated properly.
aftermarket bumpers are often more cost effective than OEM. It is common where it has been changed by the prior owner to a style with more lights. Usually, these have been purchased in the United States of America (USA).
Important: These need to be checked carefully as there are a few local suppliers with significant variations in cost for the same part.
