When wheel alignment is allowed

Circumstances when wheel alignments and multi-wheel alignments are allowed.

Allowable circumstances

Wheel alignments are allowed when the following criteria are met:

Any alignment

when there is:

  • related impact or damage to a wheel, tire or suspension component
  • frame or unitized body damage in the area of the front or rear suspension, and
  • roll-over or other claim situations that the estimator believes affected the alignment.

A four-wheel alignment (an adjustment or alignment completed on both front and rear suspensions)

on all vehicles, regardless of whether damage has occurred to the front or rear areas.

Note: Both front and rear suspensions must be adjustable.

A two-wheel alignment

only on vehicles with a fixed or non-adjustable rear suspension.

Note: Fixed systems that require repairs or re-positioning work are paid as labour, not as alignment.
