Apply Alternative Transportation Service courtesy vehicle allowance

Collision repair program participants must notify ICBC immediately when a back-ordered original equipment part causes work to be stopped for the Alternative Transportation Service (ATS)  courtesy car allowance to apply.

When this applies

The ATS  courtesy car allowance may apply when a back-ordered original equipment part causes work to be stopped in excess of three days, as long as the program participant notifies ICBC of the delay immediately.

Important: ICBC does not accept ATS reimbursement requests when the participant fails to notify ICBC at the time the participant first becomes aware of a back-ordered original equipment part situation that causes a work stoppage.

Procedure

  1. Consider alternative options.
  2. Contact ICBC to discuss the situation.
    If an alternative option is ... Then ...
    viable request a supplement, if applicable.
    not viable advise of the anticipated length of delay by sending the Repair Facility Support Request form - Back-ordered parts work stoppage notification .
    Result:
    ICBC documents details of all discussions between the participant and ICBC.
  3. Invoice ICBC as required.
    Important: If the back-ordered original equipment part stopped work on the vehicle for a period of three consecutive business days or more, then
    • complete the Repair Facility Support Request form - ATS Vehicle Reimbursement, and
    • invoice ICBC for additional days during the work stop delay at the courtesy car allowance while the customer remains in an ATS courtesy car.
