Estimate identification protocol
There are specific requirements for each Suffix Identification (ID).
Numbering system
Each form number is comprised of two components:
- a letter, followed by
- two numbers.

or C02

Estimate suffix ID protocol
It may be necessary to complete more than one estimate for a particular claim where different facilities will be involved in the repair process, such as repairs involving
- broken glass
- damaged dash, or
- stolen stereo.
When creating more than one Suffix ID, each estimate and iteration of the form must have its own unique identification code.
Damage Type | Details |
---|---|
Glass damage | Requires an estimate.
The first suffix ID will display “A00”.
Example of use The customer can

Dash damage | Requires a second estimate.
The second suffix ID will display “B00”.
Example of use A repair facility or dealer repairs this portion of the claim. |
Stereo portion of the claim | Requires a third estimate.
The third suffix ID will display “C00”.
Example of use The insured goes to the stereo shop. |
Hidden additional damage requiring further repairs | Requires another estimate.
The Suffix ID box will display “D00”.
Example of use Used after the initial repairs are completed and the payment is processed. |
Dash damage is worse than the original estimate | A change to the original estimate is required.
The Suffix ID box will display “B01”.
Example of use Tracks changes to the original estimate from the collision repair program facility or ICBC claims staff. |
