Estimate an alloy wheel repair

Steps on estimating an alloy wheel repair.

Procedure

1. Research replacement wheel cost by the following criteria:
   • recycled suppliers
   • aftermarket, and
   • Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
2. Account for all wheel allowances and features.
   Example:
   

   A feature is the tire pressure measuring system.

3. Determine whether the wheel can be repaired at the repair facility before authorizing the work on difficult wheel repair or replacement decisions.
4. Determine whether to negate or proceed with the claim.

   If old or minor damage …	Then …
   exists	negate or cash settle the claim.
   no	proceed to step five.

5. Apply the repair or replacement of the wheel to the Repair Estimate (CL14).

   If the wheel is …	Then apply the feature …
   repairable	wheel repair.
   not repairable	wheel replacement.

   Note: The minimum alloy wheel repair and refinish allowance is applicable, regardless of any unrelated wheel damage, when the estimator has authorized a sublet alloy wheel repair and refinish allowance and the repair is being completed by an ICBC approved alloy wheel repair facility.
