Requirements for alloy wheel identification stamping
Requirement
All repaired wheels must have a stamp on the inside surface of the wheel adjacent to the valve stem hole, with the following information:
- Vendor number (for non-ICBC use invoice number)
- Date of repair, and
- Severity code.
The stamp identifies any repairs to a wheel or notice that the wheel is unsafe.
Example
An example of an acceptable identification stamp is: 12345-06/12-7.
The parts are as follows:

| 7 | Wheel was repaired to repair status code 7 damage. The wheel had sections broken out of outer rim flanges and cracked flanges. Severe ends exposed and extensive welding required. | 
Wheel cannot be repaired
When the weld repair supervisor decides that the damaged wheel cannot be safely repaired, the wheel must be discarded and permanently stamped with the word "UNSAFE"
- using characters not less than 5 mm in height, and
- on the inside of the wheel rim adjacent to the valve stem hole.
