Policy on recycled parts exclusions

Policy on authorized recycled parts listed on the Estimate or Appraisal.

Policy

Specific recycled parts will not be authorized and must not be listed for use on the Estimate or Appraisal.

ICBC does not approve the use of the following recycled parts on ICBC claims:

Part Details
Airbags and restraint systems
  • Air bag system components
  • primary pyrotechnic equipped restraint system parts (including Pyrotechnic Pretensioner equipped seat belts), and
  • supplementary restraint system parts.
Note: Only new Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) air bag system components, primary pyrotechnic and supplementary restraint system parts are acceptable for vehicle repairs by ICBC.
Tires Recycled tires.

Exceptions

This policy on recycled tires does not apply to take-offs that are removed by a reputable tire shop or dealer.
