Summary of change

ICBC has updated two aspects of how recycled parts are managed.

Firstly, crating charges and freight charges are combined when applied to a recycled part invoiced by a collision repair program participant.

Secondly, recyclers are now able to charge freight for any part or location within the province

ICBC, after recognizing the pressures on recyclers relating to freight and handling, has removed the freight included requirement for within 60 kilometres of a listed recycler's location. Going forward, recyclers will be able to charge freight and handling based on their business needs for any part listed in the province.

All recycled parts prices, in the ICBC parts locator or otherwise, are to be a net price inclusive of all freight, crating and delivery fees.

Freight and crating charges can be broken out when the recycler invoices the repair facility, however the total combined price for the parts must match what was quoted at the time of order. Recyclers will not be able to add fees beyond what's quoted in inventory.

Auto recyclers are being given until the 5th of December to align with the changes to Car-Part inventory.
