Apply the tow-in handling fee to an estimate

Collision repair program participants can submit an estimate including the tow-in handling fee in certain circumstances.

When this applies

Participants are eligible to charge ICBC the tow-in handling fee, listed on the Collision Repair Facility Labour Rates and Material Allowances, if the

vehicle is towed in and accepted by the participant, and
estimate is completed and submitted to ICBC for review.
Note: Obvious total losses should be refused by the participant unless requested by ICBC. The tow-in handling fee does not apply to obvious total losses.

Important: If a vehicle driven to the collision repair program facility is later deemed a non-drive by the participant, it is not eligible for the tow-in handling fee.

Procedure

Select the TOW-IN HANDLING fee from the My Templates section of Mitchell Cloud Estimating (MCE) and add it to the initial estimate.
Complete and submit estimate.

Note: The tow-in handling fee can be charged in addition to the total loss handling fee or repair planning and documentation fee, when applicable.
