Exotic and classic vehicle repair rate policy
The exotic and classic vehicle repair rate may be applied to eligible vehicle repairs, as determined by ICBC.
Applicability
Exotic vehicles and classic or vintage vehicles may be eligible for a higher repair rate than that of a traditional vehicle repaired at a Collision Repair Program facility. Eligibility is determined by ICBC, and requires that the vehicle meet the definition of exotic or classic vehicle to qualify for the repair rate. Refer to the Exotic Vehicle Repair Rate - Included Vehicle List for a description of vehicles that qualify for the exotic or classic rate.
Note: If a participant identifies a vehicle that they believe qualifies for the exotic and classic rate but is not in the eligible exotic or classic vehicle list, or does not meet the automatic eligibility requirements for exotic and classic repair rate, they must flag the estimate as Requires Review, with an estimate remark to "Review for exotic/classic rate exception".
Eligibility
For eligible vehicles, the exotic and classic vehicle repair rate is applicable only to the following labour types:
- Body
- Structural aluminium
- Frame
- Mechanical
- Feather, prime and block.
Exception: This policy does not apply to refinish labour.
Important: Exotic and classic repair rate applied to ineligible vehicles is subject to adjustment and recovery.
