Exotic vehicle repair rate policy
The exotic vehicle repair rate may be applied to eligible vehicle repairs, as determined by ICBC.
Eligibility
Exotic vehicles are rare, limited-production and high-priced vehicles that may be eligible for a higher repair rate than that of a traditional vehicle repaired at a Collision Repair Program facility. Eligibility is determined by ICBC, and requires that the vehicle meet the definition of exotic vehicle to qualify for the repair rate. Refer to the Exotic Vehicle Repair Rate - Included Vehicle List for a list of vehicles that qualify for the exotic rate.
Note: If a participant identifies a vehicle not on the eligible vehicle list that they believe qualifies for the exotic vehicle repair rate, they should flag the estimate as Requires Review, with an estimate remark to "Review for exotic rate exception". ICBC determines whether the vehicle is eligible.
Applicability
For eligible vehicles, the exotic rate is applicable only to the following labour types:
- Body
- Structural aluminium
- Frame
- Mechanical
- Feather, prime and block.
It does not apply to refinish labour.
Important: Exotic rate applied to ineligible vehicles is subject to adjustment and recovery.
