Safety test drive allowance on commercial tractor unit policy
The safety test drive allowance can be applied on commercial tractor units for commercial paint and body repairs performed at commercial collision repair facilities.
Eligibility
Commercial collision repair suppliers may be required to perform a safety test drive when a wheel alignment is performed on vehicles that have sustained damage to the
- frame that requires corrective pushing and pulling repair labour operations
- suspension, and
- steering box, including tie rod assembly, steering components and kingpins.
Important: If the damage sustained to the tractor unit does not require a wheel alignment, the supplier cannot bill for a safety test drive.
Allowance
A time allowance of 0.5 body labour hours can be applied, once per claim, through Mitchell by entering SAFETY TEST DRIVE in the My Template line.
Important: Labour time is inclusive of both the test drive and pre-trip inspection.
