Summary of change
Topics have been created and address changes to allowances for commercial vehicles.
Safety test drive on commercial tractor units
The new topic outlines when a commercial collision repair facility may be required to perform a safety test drive and wheel alignment on the repair estimate for vehicles that have sustained damage to the frame, suspension, and steering components. A new template line SAFETY TEST DRIVE has been created within Mitchell Cloud Estimating (MCE) that facilities can apply to claims requiring this application.
Masking and bagging
The new topic outlines when a commercial collision repair facility may be required to mask and bag a vehicle when a repair and/or replacement operation is performed requiring perimeter masking and bagging of adjacent undamaged panels exceeding 36” on inners, major cab and chassis components in preparation of the refinishing operations to prevent overspray. ICBC compensates the repair facility 1.0 body labour hours to perform the commercial masking and bagging of the vehicle when all eligibility criteria are met. A new template line MASKING & BAGGING GREATER THAN 36 INCHES has been created within Mitchell Cloud Estimating (MCE) that facilities can apply to claims requiring this application.
Feather, prime and block
The feather, prime and block operation is now billable for commercial collision repair program participants, and commercial independent and dealer paint and body suppliers. A new template line FEATHER, PRIME & BLOCK has been created within Mitchell Cloud Estimating (MCE) that facilities can apply to claims requiring this application.
