Handle accelerated depreciation enquiry from an out of province non-responsible motorist
The claims representative addresses a third party’s concerns and adds the required information to the claim when the third party expresses concerns that their vehicle's value is diminished as a result of a crash involving an ICBC customer, for claims with a date of loss (DOL) on on May 1, 2021, or later.
When this applies
- ICBC’s customer is responsible for a vehicle crash in a tort jurisdiction outside B.C., and
- The not responsible out of province (OOP) motorist makes an accelerated depreciation (AD) claim against the customer’s Third Party Liability (TPL) coverage.
Note: ICBC is not involved in the AD portion of a claim when ICBC's customer is making a claim against an OOP motorist.
