Estimate explanation requirement
List of items that the estimator must explain to the customer on the vehicle estimate and/or repairs.
Items to explain
The estimator must explain the estimate to the vehicle owner, including the following:
- any repair-related procedures
- the items listed on the estimates
- requirements to pay any deductibles and/or depreciation
- requirements to pay any applicable co-insurance amount, and
- any clarification of situations involving pre-existing or unrelated damage.
Note: This also applies to claims handled by collision repair program participants that are referred back to ICBC.
