All these items are considered sound and communication equipment:

  • global positioning systems (GPS)
  • monitors
  • headsets, and
  • video and DVD players.

Requirements for coverage

Most sound and communication equipment items are subject to similar requirements to be covered, they must be

  • permanently attached to a permanently attached part of the vehicle, or
  • installed by means of a shuttle mount.

as OEM equipment.

is not supplied by or available from the manufacturer of the vehicle

under these sections of Division 5 of the ICBC Autoplan Optional Policy

  • Section 5.12 (v).
