ICBC accredited facility

ICBC has accredited facilities throughout British Columbia (B.C.), providing local service in most communities. There are also non-participant and non-supplier facilities.

Why ICBC has accredited facilities

The purpose of ICBC’s facility accreditation program is to ensure that our mutual customer, the vehicle owner, receives work that

  • meets the highest industry standards for quality and safety, and
  • is completed quickly and cost-effectively.

Accredited facilities and their services

Accredited facilities offer the following services to customers.
Service Offered Description
High standards Facilities must meet ICBC’s high standards for
  • facilities
  • workmanship
  • safety
  • professionalism, and
  • customer service.
Written warranty on work Repairs are guaranteed as long as vehicle ownership does not change names.
Note: Warranty exclusions may include but are not limited to damage caused by or resulting from unreasonable use, maintenance or care of the vehicle.
Financial agreement between ICBC and facilities The customer only needs to pay the applicable deductible, if any.
Note: If the customer chooses a repair facility that is not accredited by ICBC, the customer must pay directly for all repairs and submit the invoice to ICBC for consideration.
Convenient, on-site damage estimates The facility performs the damage estimate at their location for the convenience of the customer.

Non-participant facilities

When the customer chooses to have their vehicle repaired at one of these facilities, the customer should be advised of the following:

  • this is a non-participant facility
  • the facility will directly invoice ICBC
  • they will need to attend an ICBC Claim Office for an estimate prior to attending a non-participant facility, and
  • the facility does not provide lifetime warranties.
Note: Non-participant facilities will be phased out after December 31, 2021.

Non-supplier facilities

When the customer chooses to have their vehicle repaired at one of these facilities, the customer should be advised of the following:

  • the facility does not have the ability to invoice ICBC directly
  • the customer must pay for the repairs and then apply to ICBC to be reimbursed, and
  • if the facility charges a rate higher than the negotiated labor rate, ICBC will reimburse only what it would have authorized and may not reimburse the full cost of repairs.
