Upgrade or substitution for glass only claims policy

Policy on equipment upgrades or substitutions on ICBC glass only claims.

Policy

ICBC allows part upgrades or substitutions on glass only claims
  • by customer request only, and
  • at no additional claim cost to ICBC.

For example, if a customer requests to substitute Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) glass on a vehicle where there is no replacement cost policy and agrees to pay the difference on the claim.

Documentation

The claim must contain documentation including
  • credit or debit card transaction slip, and
  • point of sale (POS) customer invoice detailing the insurance and customer portion paid on the claim.
