Warranty on alternative parts

Summary of warranties on alternative part types.

Warranty

The warranty on an alternative part depends upon the type of part utilized.

The warranty for each type of part is presented in the table.

Type of part Warranty
Aftermarket Lifetime warranty for as long as the original owner owns the vehicle.
Alloy wheel Lifetime warranty for as long as the original owner owns the vehicle.

This applies to the following:

  • repaired wheels, and
  • recycled wheels.

Note: The refinish application has a warranty of one year.
Exchange part Lifetime warranty for as long as the original owner owns the vehicle.

This applies to the following:

  • exchange bumpers
  • reinforcement bars, and
  • other exchange parts.
Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) surplus one year.
radiators and air conditioning parts Lifetime warranty for as long as the original owner owns the vehicle.

General limit of warranty

The parts supplier is not responsible for failure due to
  • improper installation
  • accident
  • misuse
  • abuse, or
  • improper maintenance.

Additional limits to warranty

The following specific limits apply over and above general warranty limits:

Exchange parts
  • warping, other than premature warping, or
  • any subsequent repair or modification.

Failure during warranty period

Where a failure occurs to a part within the applicable warranty period, the parts supplier must
  • replace the part, or
  • refund the purchase price of that part to the repair facility that
    • purchased the part, or
    • replaced the defective part
    including
    • freight, and
    • all reasonable labour charges for removal and replacement, and where applicable, refinishing.
