Vehicle disposition notification
Information regarding the use of the Vehicle Disposition Notification (APV377) form.
Vehicle disposition notification form
ICBC has agreed to, in alignment with Canadian Council Motor Transport Authority (CCMTA) guidelines, report any out-of-province vehicles considered a total loss to the issuing jurisdiction’s vehicle registry.
A Vehicle Disposition Notification (APV377) form must be completed to contact an out of province vehicle registry, when a vehicle registered outside of BC is involved in a crash with a responsible ICBC insured vehicle operating outside BC, and is determined to be a total loss.
The out of province vehicle can be from:
- another Canadian province or territory, or
- an American state.
Note: ICBC contacts the issuing registry as long as the vehicle meets salvage designation criteria, even if a cash settlement has paid on the total loss.
