Identify a tow destination

Steps to identify the tow destination through the tow request or research.

Procedure

1. Identify the vehicle tow destination
   A Tow Request activity available through the Towing Support queue or a non-drive estimating assignment activity in the Estimating Assignment queue should provide tow destination instructions. Tow destinations include:

   • ICBC facilities
   • Collision Repair facilities
   • Salvage
   • Customer residence, or
   • Nearest repair facility.

   Note: For Commercial claims, ICBC will only pay for transport to the nearest facility capable of performing the necessary repairs. In many cases, the repair vendor will pay the portion that exceeds the distance to the nearest factility and charge back ICBC for our portion.
2. Conduct research if the tow destination is not provided in the tow request.
   Research may include:

   • Contact requester
   • View Vehicle tracking table
   • Vehicle repair status
