Commercial mechanical rates

Guidelines for commercial mechanical rates to be applied to the Estimate or Appraisal.

Rates

ICBC and Progressive Heavy Collision Association have agreed on a separate commercial mechanical rate per hour (includes materials) to be applied to the Estimate or Appraisal.

The mechanical rates apply when repairing the:

engine
transmission
clutch
flywheel, and
differential (gear work) of commercial vehicles.

Note: The excluded items listed above are paid by following the body labour and material rates.

Parts

Appraisers indicate in the repair estimate which part applies to the mechanical rate by:

completing a separate suffix Estimate or Appraisal that describes the part covered by the mechanical rate, or
circling the flat rate labour entry for the operation on the original Estimate or Appraisal.

Note: The mechanical repair times used on the repair estimate are in the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) warranty flat rate manual.
