Sale of salvage to qualified organizations policy

Salvage vehicles can be sold or loaned to qualified organizations through requests made to the manager of Salvage Operations in the requesting area. Organizations that have vehicles loaned to them are responsible for the towing the vehicle from the salvage facility and returning the vehicle to the facility.

Qualified organizations

Qualified organization	Requirements
Trade schools Colleges Educational organizations	Vehicles can be sold through normal bid auctions for educational purposes only, upon qualification by Salvage Operations. Note: Salvage vehicles cannot be loaned to educational institutions.
Fire, police, and emergency services	Vehicles with little to no salvage value can be loaned under the external loan agreement.
Research organizations, such as UBC, or Pacific Traffic Educator Centre (PTEC)	Vehicles can be sold or loaned to these organizations for research purposes.

Important: Salvage vehicles cannot be donated.
