Overview of the Supplier Conduct Committee

Definition

The Supplier Conduct Committee reviews suppliers who create reputational or financial risk for ICBC due to not following claims procedures, performance standards or contractual obligations to the corporation.

The Supplier Conduct Committee’s mandate is to:
  • provide guidance on all supplier conduct issues
  • protect the safety of customers and eliminate risk
  • offer consistency on supplier conduct
  • recommend the disciplinary steps, and
  • identify personnel responsible for implementation of said discipline.

Structure

The committee is comprised of:

  • Director, Claims Customer and MD Strategy
  • Director, Claims Programs and Strategy
  • Director, Claims Operations, or
  • Director, Claims Services.
Supporting committee members
  • Lawyer, Corporate Law
  • Advisor, Issues Management
  • Advisor, Stakeholder Relations
  • Manager, Supplier Management Office
  • Manager/Advisor, Supplier Performance Management (presenting ), or
  • Coordinator, Supplier Programs (minutes).

Tasks

The Supplier Conduct Committee addresses matters relating to a supplier’s conduct, and determines appropriate disciplinary action assessing:
  • intent
  • frequency
  • severity, and
  • impact of compliance or conduct.
It also provides guidance on a variety of issues, such as:
  • unsatisfactory and/or unsafe repairs
  • billing and invoicing issues
  • unauthorized changes to the Estimate/Appraisal form
  • non-compliance with claims procedures, supplier programs, performance standards, and/or agreements, and
  • business practices of:
    • MD
    • Health Services, and
    • investigative partners.
