Processing Loss of Use on glass claims

When a customer with Loss of Use (LOU) coverage requests a rental vehicle to use while their own vehicle is being repaired by the glass repair facility Provincial Glass Operations follows different steps depending on whether the customer is renting from Enterprise Rent-A-Car or another rental vehicle company.

When this applies

A customer with a glass only claim who has purchased LOU coverage is eligible for a rental vehicle until their own vehicle is repaired.

Process

  1. Glass facility
    1. Contacts rental company and provides the claim number.
      When the rental provider is ... Then ...
      Enterprise Rent-A-Car Enterprise Rent-A-Car sends a direct bill request from the Automated Rental Management System (ARMS) to ClaimCenter.
      not Enterprise Rent-A-Car the glass facility contacts Provincial Glass Operations (PGO) to obtain the necessary authorization.
  2. Loss of Use team
    1. Reviews the rental vehicle request.
      When the vehicle rental company is ... The LOU team ...
      Enterprise Rent-A-Car
      1. authorizes the vehicle rental when appropriate, according to LOU requirements
      2. creates a rental authorization in ClaimCenter, if applicable, and
      3. authorizes or rejects the direct bill request.
      not Enterprise Rent-A-Car
      1. authorizes vehicle rental when appropriate, according to LOU requirements, and
      2. documents the authorization in the Rental Authorization Table in ClaimCenter.
    2. Opens the LOU exposure and reserve, if required.
