Guidelines to apply air conditioning operations performed by the repair facility.
Rates on standard operations
Repair facilities utilize Mitchell air conditioning operations when replacing air conditioning (AC) components. Operations are paid according to the times listed in Mitchell Cloud Estimating (MCE). Mitchell AC operations are utilized when the operation is either performed in-house or as a sublet.
The repair facility identifies the vehicles AC system and identifies the required operation on the estimate and selects the applicable Mitchell AC operation.
Identification and recovery of refrigerant
The identification and recovery of refrigerant can be performed only on closed systems that are capable of holding a charge. If the condenser has been damaged and the refrigerant charge is lost, there is nothing to identify or recover. No allowance applies in this instance.
Note: Sublet invoicing costs for AC cannot exceed Mitchell generated times at posted mechanical rates.
