National Auto Glass Specifications Glass pricing

ICBC considers the most current National Auto Glass Specifications (NAGS) pricing, less current discount, when determining payment.

NAGS pricing and exceptions

Glass windshield parts should be priced using NAGS pricing as listed in the current NAGS calculator, less current discount, except for claims with a
  • Replacement Cost Endorsement (APV286A), or
  • New Vehicle Replacement Plus (NVR+) endorsement.

The current discount of 25 percent off the NAGS Calculator price continues to apply.

If a glass price is not listed in NAGS, then the billing occurs as costs plus 25 percent.

NAGS updates

ICBC uses the most current NAGS prices.

The NAGS calculator is updated every January, May and September. The glass industry is advised of the date that the updated prices come into effect.

Ensuring adherence to endorsements

If the customer has an APV286A, or a NVR+ endorsement in effect, the glass repair program participant must ensure the replacement part meets the definition of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) glass.

Glass pricing on the estimate or invoice

Glass pricing on the estimate or invoice is required to be based on the NAGS pricing less the current discount. However, if the customer has an APV286A or NVR+ policy, then OEM should be billed instead.
