Policy on parts that are damaged during removal, repair, or reinstallation.

Policy

Parts damaged due to improper removal, repair or reinstallation are:

  • not covered, and
  • responsibility of the repairer.
Parts that are damaged during a removal, repair, or reinstallation that was performed correctly are reviewed on an exception basis. The claim should be flagged for review by the ICBC representative, upon submission. Manual line entry is required with an explanation including showing part billed at cost.
Note: Parts that have become brittle due to extenuating factors (i.e. age, weather, exposure) are subject to the same review criteria as parts damaged during a correctly performed removal, repair, or reinstallation.
