Exchange parts requirements

Exchange parts must meet all requirements of similar kind and quality to be accepted on the Estimate or Appraisal.

Note: All bumpers must meet these quality standards.

Requirement	Standard
Bumper texture	Exchange bumpers are supplied re-textured and do not require additional allowance. All bumper texturing must be paint-based with additive specific to the particular make and model to ensure the closest match.
Bumper priming	All exchange plastic and rubber bumpers must be fully primed. Standard black plastic bumpers do not require additional refinishing time.
Bumper reinforcement bars	All bumper reinforcement bars must be epoxy primed. If standard black, the reinforcement bar must also be refinished. If a reinforcement bar is refinished the same colour as the vehicle (other than black), an inner refinishing time is allowed to the repair facility. Two stage refinishing is also allowed if the original rebar was clear-coated.

The following freight requirements apply to exchange parts:

Free delivery	All Exchange Parts Suppliers will provide free delivery as follows if located: in the Lower Mainland - from Horseshoe Bay to Chilliwack, or outside the Lower Mainland, within 80 kilometres of their facility.
Packaging fee	Exchange Parts Suppliers may charge a $25.00 packaging fee for bumper and reinforcement bar deliveries beyond the included delivery. One packaging fee is allowed per claim, per exchange part source. When such costs are incurred, no markup is allowed by the repair facility.

The following pricing requirements apply to exchange parts:

Substituting Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts	The repair facility may substitute an OEM bumper cover for any pre-priced exchange plastic/rubber bumper cover, if the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is $200 .00 or less, and no aftermarket bumper is available for a more competitive price.
Core condition	All exchange parts must be supplied on an exchange basis, regardless of the condition of the original core.
