Use of rental vehicles in lieu of Alternative Transportation Service
In some situations, ICBC may authorize a rental vehicle for a customer.
Rental vehicle arrangements
ICBC arranges a rental vehicle for a customer whose
- alternative transportation requirements are not satisfied, and
- coverage pays for renting a replacement vehicle, or
- determined not at fault.
Compensation for rental vehicles
When ICBC authorizes a rental vehicle, rather than an ATS courtesy vehicle, then collision repair program participants are not compensated by way of the ATS hourly compensation.
Under-age allowance or rental surcharge
ICBC will not pay a surcharge set by the rental company for operating one of their vehicles when the customer is under the minimum age requirement.
