Completing a specialty vehicle appraisal repair facility estimate

The Specialty Vehicle Appraiser (SVA) department manages estimates for specialty vehicles completed at repair facilities.

When this applies

Vehicles that meet the specialty vehicle appraisal criteria are the responsibility of the SVA department. Estimates and supplements for the qualifying exotic and luxury vehicles are managed by the SVA department.

Process

  1. Customer
    1. Reports the claim to ICBC.
  2. Claim owner
    1. Determines whether the vehicle is collision repair program qualified.
      When the vehicle is ... Then ...
      not collision repair program qualified
      makes an appointment
      • at an ICBC claims office, or
      • for a mobile estimate.
      collision repair program qualified advises the customer to attend a collision repair program facility.
  3. Customer
    1. Attends a facility, or ICBC claims office, or has a mobile estimate done.
  4. Repair facility or estimator
    1. Completes the estimate.
      When the customer chooses ... Then ...
      a collision repair program facility the collision repair program participant retrieves and completes the estimate.
      a non-participating facility the SVA department retrieves and completes the estimate and supplements.
