Fuel removal time allowance

Summary of the fuel removal allowance applied to repair estimate.

Allowance

When it is necessary to remove and replace, or remove and install a fuel tank containing a volume of fuel, a maximum of point three (.3) hours is allowed to remove and install the fuel.

If a fuel tank is punctured and no fuel remains, or the fuel was contaminated, a $20 fuel allowance can be added to the estimate to test the vehicle and provide the customer a vehicle that can be driven. The $20 fuel allowance is not applicable, if there is fuel in the vehicle that it not contaminated, and can be reinstalled after the fuel tank is replaced.

Tip: To add the judgement labour time or fuel allowance sublet, add a manual entry in Mitchell Cloud Estimating (MCE).
Note:
  • MCE does not provide a labour time.
  • Fuel must be emptied before removing and replacing or reinstalling a fuel tank.
