Perform biohazard inspection and cleaning

Steps on performing biohazard inspections and cleaning of a vehicle.

When this applies

Inspection and cleaning of vehicles with potential biohazard contamination is performed by qualified service providers.

After taking appropriate safety precautions you are ready to inspect and then clean the vehicle.

Procedure

  1. Complete a thorough inspection of the entire passenger area of the vehicle, inspecting all compartments under, over, in and around the interior of the vehicle, including the trunk.
  2. Bag and tag the customer’s personal property.

    If the vehicle...

    Then...

    is repairable

    leave the bagged and tagged items in the vehicle.

    is a total loss

    bring the bagged and tagged items to the attention of the estimator.

  3. Clean the entire vehicle, or required areas of the vehicle.
  4. Hang a Mirror Hanger card (GEN284) from the rear-view mirror displaying
    • your company’s business card (that cleaned the vehicle), and
    • the estimator’s business card.

    Note: All vehicles that have been inspected and/or cleaned require a Mirror Hanger card (GEN284).
