Requirements for glass freight allowances.

Allowances

Freight is included in the price of new and recycled glass parts with extremely limited exceptions.

No additional allowances are authorized by ICBC except in very unusual circumstances. Prices shown in the system include freight costs on new parts.

The table presents allowances and the requirements that apply.

Allowances Requirements
Approval required The Glass facility must obtain approval from Provincial Glass Operations (PGO) prior to ordering the part.
No mark-up No mark-up of freight costs is allowed.
Freight on new glass parts, including Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) No freight is allowed on new glass parts, including OEM, unless the
  • part is ordered from an OEM dealer, and
  • a replacement cost policy is in effect.
Note: Freight charges must be supported via a dealer invoice.
Freight on recycled glass parts When recycled glass parts are delivered
  • within the recycler’s local area then freight is included
  • outside the recycler’s delivery area, then PGO may allow freight charges.
These freight charges must be
  • quoted separately and with no mark-up, and
  • prepaid by the recycler and billed to the repair facility by the recycler.
