A list of the excluded items that ICBC does not pay for when removing parts during refinishing a vehicle.

Excluded items

ICBC does not pay for the removal of the following items while refinishing a vehicle

  • front windshields, and
  • rear back glass (urethane set).

Exceptions

Urethane set quarter and vent glass may be removed during refinishing when the participant supports the repair decision with photos and an explanation line entry in Mitchell Cloud Estimating (MCE) that identifies that

  • paint bridging is unavoidable, and
  • masking would not be acceptable.
Note: Repair facilities must consider the cost and risks involved when removing one time use encapsulated glass versus masking.
