Requirements for removing and installing vinyl tops to facilitate glass work.

Rate and approval requirements

Sometimes a vinyl top must be removed to facilitate windshield or back glass replacement. This work must be pre-approved before proceeding.

The following applies on Glass Estimate (CL14B) glass claims when a padded vinyl top requires removal and reinstallation (R&I) to facilitate windshield or back glass replacement:

appropriate time requires pre-approval from Provincial Glass Operations (PGO), and

removal and installation of the vinyl top must be paid at the glass facility’s current hourly labour rate.

Note: Times and rates must be entered in the Other field in the R&I items’ list when creating the estimate.
