Masking and bagging policy

Commercial collision repair facilities may be required to mask and bag a commercial tractor unit, in preparation for refinishing operations, to prevent overspray to adjacent, undamaged panels.

In preparation for refinishing damaged panels, perimeter masking and bagging of adjacent, undamaged panels is performed on panels exceeding 36 inches in length on
  • inners, and
  • major cab or chassis components.

Allowance

The labour time allowance of 1.0 body labour hour can be applied, once per claim, via Mitchell in the My Template line by entering: MASKING & BAGGING GREATER THAN 36 INCHES. For commercial tractors with multiple claims that are being repaired simultaneously, only one allowance applies.
Important: Parts that are removed and reinstalled from a vehicle that do not require perimeter masking are not eligible for the allowance. Perimeter masking is included
  • on panels up to 36 inches, and
  • in the refinish labour allowance.
