Collision repair estimate review request policy

Collision repair program participants must have justification for requesting an ICBC review of an estimate as outlined in the Collision Repair Program Guide.

Applicability

Participants can request an ICBC review of an estimate; including,
  • a hit and run claim
  • potential total loss
  • betterment
  • allowances
  • cash settlements
  • back ordered parts
  • questionable damage
  • permanently attached equipment that is approaching or exceeds $5,000, or
  • to confirm or change the Type of Loss.

Multiple claims do not require an ICBC review, unless participants require additional support with overlaps. In such cases, the participant must use the Requires Review process, and notify ICBC by emailing [email protected] with a description of the overlap concerns.

Note: Participants that apply their own overlaps to claims are not required to flag, Requires Review or email.
Important: Excessive, unnecessary requests for review may
  • impact participant quality assurance (QA) scores, and
  • trigger performance management consequences.
