Completing an electronic signature for a claim estimate

Information on how an electronic signature for a claim estimate for glass or collision is obtained from a customer.

Prerequisites

  • Repairs are completed.
  • Customer portion has been paid.

When this applies

When the customer is required to provide an electronic signature on a claim. For more information, refer to the topic, Policy on digital signatures for claim estimates.

Process

  1. Repair facility representative
    1. Completes the CL14/Cl14BX form.
    2. Scans and sends an electronic copy of the CL14/CL14BX to the customer via email, upon their consent.
  2. Customer
    1. Provides authorization through
      • electronic signature, or
      • proof of signature, including wet ink signatures that are scanned or photographed and emailed to the participant.
  3. Repair facility representative
    1. Receives the customer's electronic signature.
    2. Retains the electronic signature.
