Steps to handle biohazard inspection and cleaning of a vehicle.
When this applies
If the vehicle may have been exposed to biohazardous material it must be inspected and cleaned. The bio-inspection must be performed by a qualified ICBC supplier.
Procedure

Complete the material damage claim investigation.
Important: Inspection and cleaning of the vehicle should not be done until the material damage claim investigation has been completed.

Arrange for the bio-inspection to be performed by a qualified service provider.

Advise the customer that their vehicle will be inspected for hazards to ensure their safety.

does not have a qualified service provider, or access to a mobile qualified service provider |
- explain that a risk of exposure to biohazardous materials may exist and the service is not available in your area, and
- instruct the Claims Support Assistant (CSA) via Request Tow activity to have the vehicle moved to a qualified service provider.
