Special endorsements on glass claims
Summary of the impacts and indicator of special endorsements on glass claims.
Impacts
Claims where special endorsements apply must be handled carefully to ensure we meet our contractual obligations for the endorsements.
When the customer has a Replacement Cost Endorsement (APV286A), or a New Vehicle Replacement (NVR+) endorsement, the following requirements apply:
- glass facility must ensure that the replacement parts used meet the definition of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) glass
- OEM brand name glass may be supplied by a source other than the vehicle manufacturer or dealer, such as an aftermarket supplier), and
- parts pricing must reflect the parts source, such as a dealer, aftermarket parts supplier).
Indicator
Glass Web Express (GWE) indicates if a Replacement Cost Endorsement (APV286A or NVR+) is in effect. A pop-up message indicates: Replacement Cost Policy in effect. Replace glass with the same brand or equivalent.
