Apply commercial parts and sublet mark-up rates

Steps for dealerships and independent suppliers to apply parts and sublet mark-up rates on commercial vehicles at their facility.

When this applies

Commercial vehicle with an ICBC claim is at a dealership or independent supplier for repair.

Procedure

  1. Apply the appropriate commercial parts and sublet mark-up rate to the claim.
    If the … Then …
    dealership repairs vehicles from a different manufacturer, such as a Freightliner repairing a Kenworth.
    • they can mark-up parts purchased as per the applicable rate in the MD Rate Schedule .
    • the cost of the non-captive or used part (including the mark-up) must not exceed the dealership captive part Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), and
    • in the MD Rate Schedule are the:
      • non-captive parts mark-up over cost
      • used parts mark-up over cost, and
      • sublet mark-up over cost.
    independent supplier repairs vehicles from a manufacturer
    • cost of the non-captive or used part (including the dealership’s mark-up) must not exceed the dealership captive part (OEM), and
    • sublet mark-up over cost is in the MD Rate Schedule.
