Fees and categories

Estimators and repair suppliers must pay the tire advance disposal fees based on the tire types.
Note: The rates are current as of January 1, 2024.
Tire type Definition Fees
Passenger tires

Tires used on

  • passengers cars

  • light trucks

  • multi-purpose passenger vehicles (MPV)

  • sport utility vehicles (SUV)

  • cross-over utility vehicles (CUV), and

  • tires that comply with the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS No. 109).

$6.50 plus applicable taxes.
Light truck tires
Tires that
  • are used on consumer or commercial light trucks under 10,000 lbs gross vehicle weight (GVW), and
  • comply with Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS No.119).
$6.50 plus applicable taxes.
Motorcycle and all terrains vehicle (ATV)

All tires used for

  • on/and off highways motorcycles

  • motorcycles sidecars

  • motor bikes

  • mopeds

  • mini-cycles, and

  • ATVs.

$6.50 plus applicable taxes.
Free rolling farm

Tires used for

  • free rolling farm, and

  • tires deemed for use on farm equipment.

$6.50 plus applicable taxes.
Medium truck tires, commercial truck, and bus tires

Wide base or heavy truck tires that are used for truck and bus applications, and

Recreational vehicle (RV) tires that are not marked Light Truck (LT).

Note: All comply with Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS No. 119).
$14.00 plus applicable taxes.
Agricultural drive tires

Drive wheel tires used on tractors, and combine equipment.

Note: These tires are identified with a sidewall marking with suffix letters R or HF.
$15.00 plus applicable taxes.
Logger/skidder tires Tires used on tree harvesting equipment, and identified with a sidewall marking with suffix letters LS. $35.00 plus applicable taxes.
