Environmental handling charges and electronic handling fees
Definitions for environmental handling charges and electronic handling fees.
Environmental handling charges are charges that the supplier must pay for the purchase of specified products related to the customer’s vehicle repairs. These fees are:
- paid to the retailer
- charged at the point of purchase, and
- reflects the cost of recycling the purchased item.
Suppliers must pay environment handling charges on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) supplied equipment.
Electronic handling fees
Electronic handling fees are fees that the supplier must pay for the purchaser of specified products related to the customer’s vehicle repairs. These fees are:
- paid to the retailer
- charged at the point of purchase, and
- reflects the cost of recycling the purchased item.
Suppliers are not required to pay electronic fees on OEM supplied electronic equipment.
