Select the appropriate calibration for an advanced driver assistance system in a collision claim

The collision repair program participant may need to calibrate cameras or radar units for vehicles equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) that have a collision claim.

When this applies

When an ADAS system requires calibration as part of the repair.
Note: For more information, refer to the topic, Advanced driver assistance systems calibrations for collision claims

Procedure

  1. Select the appropriate estimate entry from the My Templates dropdown list in Mitchell Cloud Estimating (MCE).
If the calibration is for a ... and the calibration is ... then the participant must ...
forward facing camera or radar unit sublet to another collision or glass program participant to complete
    • select an auto-populated sublet ADAS calibration type from My Templates, including
      • ADAS CALIBRATION STATIC
      • ADAS CALIBRATION DYNAMIC, or
      • ADAS CALIBRATION UNIVERSAL
sublet to a non-participant program participant to complete
    • select an auto-populated sublet ADAS calibration type from My Templates, including
      • ADAS CALIBRATION STATIC
      • ADAS CALIBRATION DYNAMIC, or
      • ADAS CALIBRATION UNIVERSAL
    • change the dollar amount to reflect the sublet amount before taxes, and
    • add an explanation line outlining the type of calibration performed, including the additional labour operations, as required, to support the additional amount billed.
Note: For more information refer to the topic, Sublet repair
completed in-house by a collision repair program participant
    • select an auto-populated sublet ADAS calibration type from My Templates, including
      • ADAS CALIBRATION STATIC
      • ADAS CALIBRATION DYNAMIC, or
      • ADAS CALIBRATION UNIVERSAL, and
    • convert the appropriate amount to labour hours.
Note: For more information how to convert sublet into flat rate labour time refer to the topic,Sublet conversion to Alternative Transportation Service hourly compensation
